12,350 sq m of speculative buildings approved
Auckland Airport is pleased to announce two new industrial property developments have been approved by the Board for construction in 2012. The two developments have been approved on an uncommitted basis and total approximately 12,350 sq m of nett lettable area. The first development is a 3,320sqm standalone industrial building suitable for a single user. The second is a 9,320sqm multi-unit industrial development which will allow for complete flexibility of unit sizes and accommodate multiple users.
Proposed standalone building
Design of the developments is currently underway with finalised specifications due out in March/April 2012 and an anticipated completion in Q4 2012. Auckland Airport Property Development Manager Sean Leonard commented, “Occupancy levels at the Auckland Airport Business District are currently 99.5%. Demand for the location is increasing and we see these developments catering for this with quality, low office ratio buildings, high stud warehouses with sufficient yard”.
The developments will be ideally suited for tenants involved in the; freight and logistics sectors, freight forwarding, wholesale trade, import/export, manufacturing/assembly and food manufacturing.
